STEVE MONTADOR (Buffalo Sabres) IN STUDIO: 10/07/10
I would like to use this site as sort of a personal portal to share my excitement about different things I get to do, whether that be in comedy, radio, or any other sort of entertainment venue. Today was a fun moment, I got to interview a Buffalo Sabres player for the first time solo...
I have been filling in for Bull when he's out for the better part of 2 years now. I love doing Mornings because I get to show a little more personality on my own than in the rest of the shows/dayparts I'm involved in. Not to mention, Mornings in radio is still the big spot in a lot of regards, so I always try to bring 100% to the table...
Today Buffalo Sabres Defenseman, Steve Montador, came into studio to chill. He was a super cool dude, and chill enough where I felt comfortable during the interview... Here it is, if you'd like to listen
CLASSIC MARSHAWN MOMENTS: 10/05/10
Today, the Buffalo Bills traded veteran Running Back Marshawn Lynch to the Seattle Seahawks. The Buffalo sports media is rejoicing over this move as you well know...
The move, as far as football, is a proper one.
As far as I'M concerned, I will miss Marshawn....
In my job, we are lucky to have access to The Buffalo Bills and their players. Though I'm a member of the media, I'm not a member of the Sports media. Aside from the fact that I'm a massive Buffalo Bills fan, them winning or losing doesn't effect what I do. My only goal (EVER) is to be funny and develop funny content for the show, and Marshawn ALWAYS brought game in that department.
Just like other Buffalo Bills that I'm sure you've forgotten (Robert Royal, Anthony Hargrove) I will NEVER forget them because they were so hilarious when I would ask them stupid questions! Marshawn was a different kind of funny though. It was a combination of a funny personality and a particular naivety... So with that in mind, here are some CLASSIC moments I had in the locker room with Marshawn Lynch...
Say what you will about his off-field character... I honestly think you have a kid, who has tons of cash, and still has a lot of growing up to do. I know I was disappointed to learn of his arrests. In the various times I had the pleasure to talk to him, I got the vibe that he was a good person at heart and a bit of a Mama's boy.... All in all, I'll never forget my time with Marshawn Lynch... It was never dull, and I hope you enjoyed the snippets I provided above... Good luck in Seattle Marshawn, hope you get that spark back...
